About Paul Edwards

Prior to joining the Deseret News, Paul Edwards was executive vice president and provost of Southern Virginia University, president and distinguished scholar at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, and taught political science at Brigham Young University. Edwards received his law degree and Ph.D. at the University of California, Berkeley where he was articles editor for the California Law Review. He served as a judicial law clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals. His scholarship has focused on economic development, the regulation of campaigns and elections, the regulation of higher education, and corporate governance.
